Pro Men’s Wakeboarding: Roswell Rider Cory Teunissen Takes 1st
Pine Mountain, GA (May 28, 2017) – The 58th Nautique Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® presented by GM Marine Engine Technology at Callaway Gardens has become a staple event in the marine sports industry. As an invite-only competition, it host the best of the best in Skiing, Wakeboarding, and Wakeskating with the latter of the two being pulled behind the legendary tow boat, Nautique G23.
In the pro men’s division, Roswell Rider Cory Teunissen (AUS) came out seeking a win. After two double flips and a 1080, a win is exactly he received. Cory took the top podium spot ahead of the comeback kid, Harley Clifford (AUS) who took second, and Nautique rider Mike Dowdy (USA). Nautique team rider Tony Iacconi (AUS) finished right behind Dowdy with a strong 4th place finish. It seems to be another preview of what will come in the next stop of the Supra Pro Wakeboard Tour on June 24th in Mantua, UT which will stream live on Wakeboard Mag’s Facebook page.
Other notable wins at this years Masters were Meagan Ethell (USA) taking the title in the women’s division. The most talked about event of the day was a crushing win by Ryan Dodd (CAN) jumping 243 feet which broke the course record, a Canadian national record and a personal best. 2nd place was Bojan Schnipner (GER) with a 223 ft. jump.
Either way you look at it, the Master’s held up to it’s name and created record turnouts, definitely something you should plan a trip for next year.
